I have a quick question- if you sell your Q25 research item - do you still have that knowledge? At that point we both have that tech level? Or is it sort of transferred from you to me and you need to research up to 25 again?

When you sell a research you have to research it again. In another words your research goes to a company that bought it and you are left with no research.
