I suggest you read the newspaper next edition, and then you'll know. :)

Unfortunately there is nothing mentioned in the newspaper about this new contest feature so we're still in the dark. An explanation would be appreciated.

Hi Esprit,

there are a few details on page 1. It says here:
There are two contest products in this contest, both with a different 'weighting',
which means that one product will produce more points towards your score in the contest.

You can choose which product you want to produce in this contest.
Obviously you will have to make more of the low weighting item in order to win,
but on the other hand, the low weighting item will be easier to produce as well.
That means, as producing candy bars is harder than producing sugar, choosing that products will gain you more points than if you'd decide to send in sugar. In that case, you'll get twice more points for producing candy bars, than for producing sugar.

Please let us know if you have any further questions!

Thanks for the explanation, the newspaper was updated after I asked my question.

A new question: can I submit both products or do I have to choose one and stick to it?

Shouldn't it really mean when you send in contracts? The score used to refer to the products sent in. If the score is what is referred to as points in this statement then it has nothing to do with production. That's how I interpret it anyway. :?

I'm laying off the contests for now. I had a complete fail last time (fell asleep and didn't hear the kapi reminder) and it stung hard.

Hi Andro, hi Esprit,

the current contest works as follows:

Code: Select all

Maximum level to participate: Trillionaire
Minimum level to participate: Dishwasher

Product	Quality	Price	Weighting
Sugar 3 2 1
Candy bars 2 3 2
Sending in one quality 2 candy bar will equal 2 points in the current contest, while sending in one quality 3 sugar equals 1 point in the contest. As the system works, the more points you gain, the higher your ranking in the contest stats and the higher the chances of a prize.

That means, sending in candy bars will gain you a higher score faster than if you send in sugar. You can, however, send in either one during the entire contest. That means, if you have sent in candy bars once, it doesn't mean you are now stuck to them. You can send in one load of candy bars, then one load of sugar - as you like it. The only difference is that if you choose candy bars, your score will be higher. If you send in 20 sugar, this will be counted as 20 points in the score. If you send in 20 candy bars, this will be counted as 40 points in the score.

Does that make sense now? :) We'll do our best to bear your questions here in mind and shall make sure the description is a little clearer in future. :)

I like the new addition to contests. Thank you!

However, I have a question. Can we only see the top 40 players in the contest now or is it just me?

It does. I just got/get hung up on the wording in the quote.
You can choose which product you want to produce in this contest.
Obviously you will have to make more of the low weighting item in order to win,
but on the other hand, the low weighting item will be easier to produce as well.
Technically, you don't have to produce a product to be part of the contest. Someone have to, and sell on the market, but not everyone.

But yeah, I get the idea and it sure makes things more interesting.
