Change of name

I'm curious.
How many of you have change your company name after you first started?
Have you changed the name after establishing yourself as a "known" company?

The reason I ask is because I'm thinking of changing mine. The one thing that is holding me back is that I have had this company name (TomBoy Productions) for at least 2 years and my company may be remembered by others, just like I notice certain names on the realms.

...and after being featured in the newspaper it's even more difficult to decide.

I changed mine in the early beginning. Was StoneWorldCorp (because I only sold stones) but then other products have caught my attention so I changed it to a more general one: Portuguese Products

You don't have to change the whole name, you can keep the Tom or the TomBoy and mix it with other words and other companies would still associate it to your older company name.

I've changed mine several times, not really in the last year or so but before that i chose pretty much anything. I used to have the company name "." for a while on R1 quickest name to type for contracts etc though

I believe my first thought was "wtf?!" Calling yourself "fullstop" would've been funny though.

I've had a few names at the beginning but they were all based around the "VerConMat" label.

On R2 I started off with just VerConMat, because "Verodin Construction Materials" exceeded the character limit.
It was lacking something in my opinion so I later changed it to VerConMat Industries BV and it hasn't changed since.

On R1 I used the name VerConMat Chemicals BV and then VerConMat Industries NV.
I changed my R1 name to VerConMat Industries BV when I joined the KapiTimes team, just so my name would be the same all over this game. So since joining KapiTimes I've been using VerConMat Industries BV on R1, R2, and the forums.

I guess I haven't changed my name after becoming an established company, and I don't think that it'll ever happen as it would only make it harder for people to find me, both as a Kapilands company and as the Editor in Charge of KapiTimes.

I doubt I'm that well known. But you never know. Up until two months ago, or so, I was under the impression barely anyone knew about me.

I have picked a partially new name, based on my current, that I will introduce later today or tomorrow. I have to wait until after I have recieved my contest prize. I wouldn't want them to get lost because of the name change.

And then, two years from now, I could phase out the older part of the name for a new one.

Btw, my new name on both realms is Tomboys Pikkenmixx.
I wasn't able to squeeze in a ' before the s. I take it the servers are old and can't handle PHP5 properly.

There's a candy in England that is apparently called Picknmix, because you pick what you like and mix it.

Pick n mix is usually in cinemas these days although Woolworth's used to sell it before they went bust. You used to fill a bag with loads of huge crazy sweets then when you got to the counter and they weighed it the price would be about £20.
