I am an ice cream producer and milk supplier.
All my bananas, milk are produced in-situ.
I own ice factory before the contest and I like selling ice-cream
Therefore, I have produced Q2 bic at the beginning. (original at Q3/4)

I have no big company to understand "macro"economics
I guess, ice cream may be cheap enough to produce in-situ, even in large quantities.
However, I cannot fully understand why there's lack of dynamics.

After the first few days, it's something strange about the contest market.
I observed from 07XX - 23XX (UTC+8)
It seemed to me that little people showed up and bought ice cream.
Also, I didn't get any enquiry for my offer to sell.
The contest is the least dynamic one I've ever seen from printer.
Producers just cut their price a lot when there was no big buyer, no buyer actually in it.

yeah, it was really interesting how a small demand presses the producers in a strange situation. ^^
Maybe I am lucky or just too small, but I never had any problem to sell my ice. It is the other way around, that a purchaser may got angry at me, because I didn't sell to him.
The funny thing is I started this contest as bananaproducer. Then I switched caused by a good tip of a partner in this contest to producing bic myself with success.

In my eyes it was a real success. I started with <2mill in all-over value and ended around 20mill. :D
Even selling the bic not for 1.5k but for 300 or 400 is a huge win for any bic-producer. So I would rather say, the starting prices where much too big.
Now, after the contest, I really think Dominance is right. If the price is too high it even kills contest-markets.
I hope to see many of my partners of the last 2 weeks again in the next contest. :)

I think sholvar's right
After all, any cash inflow is better than none
300/400 cap may be the price ceiling in the mind of the buyers
High selling price reduced the selling activites to last day.
Also, many producers may change their mind and entered the contest.
You can earn a bit even you sell to contest

There was a *lot* of buying and selling, every day of the contest, and often at prices far about 400. I sold at least 10,000 bic every day and for the first few days I sold it for 600-700. I got several purchases from big players too (top 10 in contest) although I don't remember if they managed to buy only at the lower prices.
