The problem with pyramidal scheme, and why they've eventually become illegal in every country, is that you run out of people. Like, if 2 guys give you 1 000 000 Kapi, and then each of them has 2 guys give them 1 000 000 kapi, after very few such cycles, even if 90% of the world population played Kapilands, you'd quickly run out of new people to give money to others after you. It's pretty amazing when you stop and think of it, but it's simple maths. The oldest such trick is that of a wise guy, who invented the chess game. When asked by his master, the ruler of India, what he wanted as a reward for creating such a wonderful game, he was like: "I don't want much. Just take a chess board, and fill it by putting one grain of rice on the first square, then twice that on the second square, then twice that on the third, etc". It seemed reasonable to the ruler, but actually, the number of rice grains on the last square alone, is roughly 18,446,744,070,000,000,000 (still way more than nowadays yearly production of rice on the whole planet). You'll find more info about the fable here.
The add you received in your mail uses the same principle, but with customers instead of grains of rice. It's not exactly a scam, in the sense that you're not asked to give something, then find 2 or more people to give something back to you. But certainly, with the "2 other" that you found probably wanting to join in too, and for that, needing "2 others" themselves, eventually, after a few cycles of customers, either this guy will have to provide all Kapilands power needs -and have the power stations to back it up-, either some people will want to join as well and won't be able to, for lack of other players not already in the deal =)
That said, the idea of "grains of rice" advertising is pretty neat, and on the whole, seems fairly harmless. If the mods validate that power as cheap as 0.03 is still not against the game rules, I'd love to be one of your "2 other person".... at least, until the guy finds out that he has to provide the whole Kapiland-wide production of power and simply can't keep up
