Have the forums helped you?

Post by Guest » 03.10.2010, 20:27

Well, the people at KapiTimes have seen the forums dying in front of them. And they've enlisted me to help!
"What do I need to do?", I hear you say. Well, it's simple. In this thread, write a paragraph or so saying how the forums have helped you. The really good entries will feature in...well...you'll see!
REMEMBER, Post it here. Don't PM me or anyone else. That was a stupid idea

Sales of products, game tips, and a great community :D
I'll try to get around to it. Writing a ton of paragraphs for school as it is :P

When I started a year ago I found the forum helpful in figuring out how pricing actually works. I was rather dumb when I thought the total cost was what was displayed in each producing building.

I also found information on how to make the best (sort of) of retail.

well the forum was really helpfull when i started back in 2008...
there is everything needed to set a nice company.
you can find the way things work in the game, ask your questions and find suppliers or customers...
even dead, the forum is the best way to look when you start a company, but if it were alive it would give a better game experience...

It was very helpful for finding business partners when I started playing back in 2007. It was also helpful to find topics about in which zones I should build my empire.

The questions and beginner help, especially the guide to useful threads, has inspired me a lot in the beginning of my game, especially about actually using mathematics for this game, which made it way more fun than when i was just expanding my 1 single plantation which produced wood for selling at 30 caps (which was market price at that time :))

Well KapiTimes didn't exactly "enlist" you, I asked you for sources as you came up with an article idea without sources. :P

Nothing about said article is certain at this moment.
If I do decide to write it, I might use some quotes from this thread in the article.

The forums allways been useful for helping people but way back when there used to be quite a bit of banter and it was that which in my opinion kept the forum active.
The sad fact is that a lot of the charecters have left or just don't inhabit the forum anymore.

When I started off I diffident know my cars from my cabs but thanks to the seemingly endless patience of the forum users (I ignore rojinte in this since he's not exactly human =) ) I can help the next gen of users with their stupid mindless questions! We are all new in the beginning and for that reason alone I think the forums are the best resource in the game no question.

The use of the commercial (sales) area of the forums is the biggest ally of any product related business and contacts to and from off there have made up 75% of my cash flow in the past. Not even mentioning the crazy characters that inhabit this corner of cyberspace who made shuch things as king of the hill (my granny killed you with her rocking chair, my hill!)
