Profit Spreadsheet - New Version (v6)

Post by Guest » 06.08.2010, 12:12

Hi all. Over the course of the last few years I have played on and off and between bouts of homework and boredom I cobbled together a spread sheet to make my life just a little easier when playing the great game!

What is this spreadsheet of awesomeness? I hear you ask, ok maybe its more of a confused shrug but ill work with it!

Ever asked

Links to the actual sheet are below.

Horizons Profits Sheet v6 (Compatiable).xls

Instructions on what each input does are here, if anyone has any problems please drop me a line here and ill try and respond asap.

Ok here goes =) Sales Tab First
Product Value is your cost price
Player Value is what you can sell the item for to another player
Gold per item is simply a choice between gold necks and watches (30 signals neck 40 a watch)
Gold output is what your mines can produce, if you dont have mines then delete that value and leave empty this forces the sheet to take from the line below which is number of products so that if you buy in gold or finished items)
Test AMT+Store Size should be fairly straight forward
Ok on the side are global options, start price is the lowest price you want to try, interval is each step you want to go up, play aound and see what happens.
The Time Frame is how long you want to leave the stores for to calc period and wont efferct the sales times or anything
Total Store Size is the totality of store size your company has
Capacity is the shelf size per m^2 for the store type (jewels are 8 8) )

Ok, still with me? Dedicated much! To the Production Tab...
If you put in nothing for gold output ignore this page, it will be utterly thrown by that lack of info until I get around to making it nice and it will still be pointless for you.

Other Manufacturing Size is the value adding build size, this is jewel facts for example, its a whole amt so you can have items of different sizes
Mine Size is the same but for raw materials
Output a week is tedious to calculate if not all your mines are the same but there cant be a tool to help in this version sorry, its on the to-do list
Cost/selling price is easy

The last but not least tab is graphs, these require no input but do give a nice summary of exactly what is best for your company, from mine you can see that I should produce a combo of sales and stones with my price being around 14.5k or for the best ROI I should go with pure stores and buy in all my product to sell at <12k

Ok that took a while, hope you survived and it wasn't too tedious. If you need any further explanation on any area feel free to message me as many times as you want. ;)

If ANYONE has any ideas on how to make this better, no matter how sublime or ridiculous send me a mail! I want every bit of info and response I can muster good/criticisms/comments.

Em.... nice :)
Too bad I'm kinda inactive now ingame, and set only the biggest of my stores to sell for days so that I wont have to restock soon

Love the spreadsheet, but I can't get 4share off my computer. Downloaded it by accident and it took over. I think it is chasing my dogs around the backyard as we speak. Had to chase it out of the refridgerator this morning. :?

Um....not too sure why its done that, I just used it becuase it was free and fairl easy for both ends
try ccleaner should purge it with ease
Other than that if your using windows type msconfig into your 'run' window and uncheck it from the start up programs box for a easy fix (it will still be on the computer just dormant =)
Sorry about that but thanks for the review, keep em comming good bad or ugly!
