Auctions and Contest

Post by Guest » 05.04.2007, 09:26

I know that companies bidding on an auction, and then not paying for it results in the banishment from the auction forum (at least I'm pretty sure that's what happens), but what happens when a company bids on an auction - in this case an auction about Quartz (the contest product) - and the company quits/never comes back?
company: xxx
head office: Germany

cash: 0.00
fixed assets: 0.00
score: 0.00

last login: 3.04.07
I sent him a message a while back, and it was responded to, saying he would be able to pay for it... but now with 12 hours left in the contest... I feel screwed out of money... considering this was bid on, and left on auction for a long time, and now the market price has dropped considerably! I feel I have been robbed of 1.6 million caps.

Here are the messages back and forth.
Message to xxx, 3.04.07 16:02
hey, u bid on my auction for 200,000 quartz @ 18 ... hope u have the money coming in soon, the auction is up in 39 hours. would u like it all lumped together, or would u prefer sepearte packages (if so, how much in each)

Unfortunate business :? I seemes like the possible profit is to be consithered lost.

(Note: In general I don't think one is alowed to display other companies in the forum like that. Even though the company is now bancerupt, you should remove the name.)

the bidder on your auction was just a multi account user. I along with many others reported him within the FIRST DAY( ADMIN READ THIS GOOD ) of the contest when he bought out the market with 90k fixed assets and admin somehow found this in some way NOT suspicious. So i wait a week and report again, still... nothing happens. Then day all auction end he bid on, and day before contest ending, he finally gets banned. Its unfortunet that it took 2 whole weeks for admin to finally come to the conclusion that 90k assets cannot account for 70mill+ in quartz submitted. You are the unfortunet person to be hurt by 2 things. Multi account users, and admins not doing there job fast enough. I guarantee this post will be edited/deleted faster then the cheaters account will be :)

stop posting untrue things here...!!! And stop even trying to be sure what I am thinking about....

edit:
@free-Way Gas Productions: I think you will remember quite good somebody you reported to be a cheater (someone participating the contest...), to whom you send tons of *** messages, publishing his name everywhere in the chat and in the forum.... and then: he was no cheater. He was just a player like you and me.... nothing more. Oh no, not a player like you and me... (I stop writing what I think now...) Think about this again... can you imagine how this player felt after your messages and he even does not know what you people said in the chat...

I do not want to excuse cheating.... but we have to check them; we won't delete anybody's account with having just a message that he is cheating.

So if you report anybody to us who is (maybe) a cheater, this account will be checked...

And yes, Getus sent a message to me about this. I think, this was before he opened this thread here. And I can also tell you what I replied to him:
It is horrible to loose so much money in an auction, sure. And we are working on a solution so that you players will be protected more in these auctions.

A solution is, however, not to ban newbies from auctions...

And I will also post here how we will deal with this in future.

On the two times I've seen evidence strong enough to seem worth reporting, the response has been fast and professional. It's unfortunate that cheating exists but the admins seem to do a good job with a tough responsibility.

Effective Admin work against cheats is extremely essential for a successful online game. I've seen many good games fallen due to lack of players as they ran away, feeling unfair, coz of a break out of hacks, cheats etc..

Ive reported prob in excess of 70 persons for possible cheatng how many of these have been deleted i dont know but im sure that everyone that i have reported has been checked and deleted if they are cheaters and if they are not then its fine ........... admins have so much work to do but ive never been asked NOT to place reports and EVERY post i have send has been read not just deleted. I think you admins do a wonderful job and dont get any where near enough praise ............ I for one salute u all.
