Bring it on. Aardvark cafe is going to make cars soon, so we can run over aardvarks, class them as road rage and not have to pay for them and not pay tax

jan if you ever visit you will get a free aardvark burger

That's a good idea. You go ran those aardvarks over with cars, I'll be using something else, to crack the armadillos open faster. After all, it are known as the "little armored ones", so either an ATMOS cannon or a B33/Saur/Piranha APC ( Armored Personnel Carrier ) should be appropriate for this task ;) .

So, that's what this abbreviation stands for: Gurgling Mice. Wow, I've been living under a rock for most part of my life, thinking GM = General Motors.

Got no idea, to be honest. Never drove a GM vehicle so far. Just Romanian-made cars :) .

Is dacia, Romanian? If so ever driven a Sandero?

Yes, Dacia is a Romanian car. It is manufactured just a few kilometres away from the city I reside in at the moment, Pitesti, in a town named Mioveni. The Dacia Group is part of the bigger Renault company for several years.

And to answer your other question, no, I haven't driven a Sandero just yet. The only 2 models I had the opportunity to drive were the Logan ( the older version ), while preparing for my driver's license exam and the Solenza, which I currently own for about 4 years. Overall, I'm satisfied with both model's performances, since I'm not that choosey and I think these are the right cars for an average Joe's income and life style in Romania, who isn't looking to wow others or show off his new ride to his mates.

If you wanna know more:

2. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Automobile_Dacia ( more about the Dacia Group )

3. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pitesti ( the city I reside in )

My grandfather had a Dacia 1310, which he bought in 1977, for around 70 000 lei. Even for that time, this wasn't actually cheap, he had to save some money to get it. Not only that, but he also had to sneak inside the Dacia plant to supervise the car's building process, because he wanted it to be more custom, so to speak. Back in those days, it was pretty darn difficult to do what he did, because no other people except for the workers were allowed to enter the facility..plus, we're talking communism here.

In the end ( to cut the story short ), he managed to have the car he wished for: a black 1310, with pretty much all the accessories available for that period of time. Mind you, black cars were only for the government and other "special customers", if you know what I mean, so he kinda gambled his freedom here..but he won! :D.

That vehicle was one durable piece of engineering! It still could be drivable even after 33 years of use ( 1977 - 2010 ). He gave it away to be scrapped just a few weeks ago, in what's known in Romania as "Programul Rabla" ( literally: The Junk Program; or Cash For Clunkers, in the US, if I'm not wrong ).

Now, back to more modern days, I drive a 2004 Dacia Solenza. This was a model manfactured by Dacia between 2003 and 2005. Mine is the top line one, with electric windows, airbags, magnesium alloy rims, sound system, radio and a few more perks I'm missing now. As mentioned in a previous reply, it's a good car, suitable for most people and especially our roads. If it breaks down, parts are usually easier to find ( Pitesti is literally filled with shops selling brand new Dacia spare parts ) and it's cheaper to fix than other makes.

If I'll go to Mioveni in the near future, I'll make sure to take some snapshots of the Dacia car plant and will send them over to you or post them here, on the forum. Won't forget that! ;)

In the meantime, here are some more details about the models you've mentioned ( Logan, Sandero, Duster and, of course, Solenza ):

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dacia_Solenza ( Solenza model )

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dacia_Logan ( Logan model )

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dacia_Sandero ( Sandero model )

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dacia_Duster ( Duster model )

Sorry if I made any mistakes while posting this message, but it's late here in Romania ( 3:30 AM ). Probably should be in bed by now ( since tomorrow I'm out of town with some stuff to do ), but I wanted to reply to you before going to sleep :) .

I fear aardvarks.

And romanian taxis too, saw one of them here in Italy, it was so covered in stickers that you couldn't see the original color
