I don't know for sure but, my bet is they give them to everyone to say sorry for having to shut the server down. That why they could fix that market bug.

I guess we will have to wait and see for sure.

I must be one too.

No such intentional acts. It's a standard game "event" which, due to the server being bounced, apparently got triggered numerous times.
