production costs oil

Post by Guest » 30.01.2007, 08:55

I have had oil in my warehouse with production costs of 190.00 caps.
Is it a mistake? And how is it possible?

Therefore I would need power for 1.81 caps per unit... and I have definitively not bought so expensive power

production costs = 9

The production costs is just what you have to pay for the product itself (not for raw materials).

But the costs are not per unit, that means you had to pay 190.00 for the whole oil you wanted to produce

Hm, you did not understand me.

When I look in my warehouse there are all my products listed and behind them there are standing the production costs. Am I right?

And these costs are too high

Its not only oil prices. The display in the warehouse gives absolut wrong unit prices, like 9,01 for Power (and, no, i never bought power for that price)...

That kind of situation never happened to me but still the prices in the warehouse are not very accurate. Imagine that I want to produce 1cattle and also that i can produce everything except the power.

1 cattle = 30corn + 350water + 2.34caps
so
1 cattle = 30seed + 300water + 2.7caps + 350water +2.34caps
1 cattle = 30water + 0.3caps + 650water + 5.04caps
1 cattle = 680water + 5.34caps
1 cattle = 68power + 13.6caps + 5.34caps
1 cattle = 68power + 18.94

So looking at this and buying power at 0.07 each cattle cost me 23.7!

But according to the warehouse each cattle costs me 18.94!!

This happens because to the warehouse 1water costs 0.02...wich is not true: 1water costs in fact 0.027.

If I was buying power at 0.1 the price in the wharehouse should be accurate because the real price of each unit and the wharehouse price would be the same: 0.03

For me sometimes it just ran off. Starting I tot its an updated avg. price (either according to the market or the stats)

Then i figure it should be the cost price. But then again, my cost price should not be fluctuating (since I am in control of my whole process flow). Hence I tot its back to (above). Of coz its arguable (I produce Gas) that I buy power, hence, the cost might follow the price of my power (stated in the warehouse). But that brings up another issue.

When I start buying power (which the only thing i buy) i notice it takes the average price I bought it with, then again i was proven wrong as at one time, it shows the price I bought it with (this I double check it already and its not the average price).

Interesting.. so I never bother with that figure and i just go ahead and calculate my own cost price :)
