Is Chemical plants really worth it?
Im trying to sell perfumes, detergents and so on for reasonable prices but there seem to be no market for them.

Eventually, all products produced have to be either directly sold as is to NPCs, either sold to other players who transform them into something sellable to NPCs.

Depending whether you prefer selling to the player market, with its ups and down -it's more risky, but there is more profit potential- or to the NPCs -which is regular and guaranteed-, you should orient yourself toward either semi-products, or finished products.

For some popular products, you will find people having more store selling power (to sell to NPCs) than they have manufacturing power. In this case, they also buy finished products from the players, but you have to keep in mind that it's only to further sell them to NPC stores, so they'll want to be able to make a profit out of it, just like the players producing what they sell in these NPC stores want to make a profit as well.
Some products allow that just fine, but some others don't because their "ingredients" are more expensive on the player market than what the finished product is worth to NPCs. In Chemical Plants, this is the case of toothpaste for example: you can make more money selling the plastic directly to players (making other things out of it), than combining it with chems and water to sell it to NPCs as toothpaste.

That said, if you like the idea of making perfumes and detergents, just for itself and personal pleasure, out of any profitability considerations, you can still manufacture them anyway, and make a profit out of them, by selling your production to NPCs. If you like the idea of not having to depend on other players to make your profit, and have some guaranteed income, they're also an okay pick (though not the best). But in those not-so-profitable (hence not-so-popular) branches, you won't find people with more store selling power than production power. You especially won't find people who specialized into having just stores, and who buy everything from other players to fill them up. That's why there's not a big (player) market demand for those products. There is however a large NPC demand, so if you sell your own production in your own stores, you can progressively make more profit as your quality raises, and as the average price raises, without having to worry too much about strong competitors flooding the market.

Obviously, if you're not into selling to NPCs via sales buildings, and if you don't have any personal tastes tieing you to chemical plant products, you should probably settle for another buisness line.
You can have a look on the stats page to see which exact products are popular (and which semi-products they involve on their production line), but off-hand, I would say that at least half the player population is involved into gas, leather jackets, and wardrobe production lines. Either directly as finished products, either as semi-product manufacturers, like oil, leather, textiles, wood, power, etc.

You should be able to find players who specialized into semi-products usable by the chemicals industry. But my personal feel about it is they produce it mainly for the electronics industry -which is another popular branch- and price it accordingly. So it might not always be viable for you to use them.

You can find perfumes in an RL grocery store. You can also find it in beauty stores, or even in some large gas stations. However, in Kapilands, each product is sold only in one single place, and no other.

If in the game menu, you click the lill green question mark that takes you to the help, you will find in the lower left section of the screen a sub-section "Products (P-S)". If you click that, you'll see that for "Perfumes", there's a "sell: Drugstore" note.

Chemical plants?
Right now I produce 180 k+ toothpastes and 50k+ perfumes q12+ in my chemicals plants.
Producing perfumes and toothpastes in chemical plants and sell them to your own drugstore can give you some profit. Maybe not as profitable to the big four products : gas, leather jackets, wardrobes and televisions, but I feel I have achieved something by producing perfumes and toothpastes :)
If you need any help in chemicals plants and drugstores message me. I will be glad to help you :)

yes, I have 4 chem plants and one drug store.
But yes, they don't sell well on the market but nicely in the stores.
it cost very little material to make, which is nice,
while a TV takes 5 plastic and 1.5 glass,
Perfumes only cost .5 glass and toothpaste .1 plastic,
So you can make many goods with little material.

Also good to keep around just in case there is a contest for any of those items you'll already have them in place.

I sell my toothpaste for around 40 and perfume for 100.
I don't want to expand them too much cause I'm using most of my chemicals for plastic and glass but still nice to have around.

So I sell my TV's for 1300'ish
TV's 5 plastic
Toothpaste I sell for 40
(.1 plastic)(50)=5 Plastic
($40)(50)=$2000
so you are getting more for your materials, plus toothpaste doesn't require any power.
