Next Move in Kapilands?
I've been playing for a week or so and have followed the intial advice I could find on the forum and started with a power plant, well, factory and a gas station so I could create steady income. I have added a further factory, two mines and another power plant, and am dabbling in steel production.
But what now? I could expand my existing buildings and increase my income, however I fancy branching out and trying different things. Looking at my fixed assets I'm tempted to try Jewelry, but apart from the initial capital costs, this type of industry doesn't seem to get much support in the forum.
Any advice?

Jewellery is a VERY difficult and expensive market. I've just started in it and am struggling, and am probably quite a bit more liquid than you.
The people to ask about it would be "MC" and "Made In Switzerland"
These are the only 2 successes I know in the jewels industry.

sirsamby: you should change "William Tell" into "Made in Switzerland" in your post, because the my company is "Made in Switzerland".
I sell diamond rings and golden watches in my 6 stores (2 in Germany, 2 in Turkey and 2 in France). But no production I buy them from suppliers. Right know I can sell approx. 300 units in 24 hours. The average selling price is 6k - 7k, therefore the daily turnover is almost 2.000.000

yes... it's this thing with supply and demand: if there are only jewels available for 10,000, people have to buy them (because demand is there
)
Or in other words: the system calculates this average price on the basis of all prices a specific item has been sold for.... and if everybody sells his product for 10,000, this average price will also change

I agree with "made in switzerland". You can get a steady income from your jewel shops but compared to other shops, jewels are selling more slowly.
I produce my jewels myself, most of them. And this gives me a nice income. But it is not easy to produce jewels in big quantities because you need very big mines to produce enough silver and gold to produce the jewels.
"Made in Switzerland": I am indeed selling my jewels at prices lower than yours. I sell them at around 4.000 to 4.500 caps.
Company: MC

I'm also mainly mining my own produce. One thing I'd say with jewels is that if its your only form of income, you will struggle a lot.
I'm selling diamond rings currently for 3.500 (in germany), and gold watches are just stockpiling for the moment. I sell about 1/hour/20qm.
MC: My mines arent the trouble...its the damned power it uses!
Perhaps we need to make a syndicate to try and control the jewel prices amongst the major players, as there seems to be a wide disparity

I'm only the begginer, but I thought about this too!sirsamby wrote:Perhaps we need to make a syndicate to try and control the jewel prices amongst the major players, as there seems to be a wide disparity
The best strategy for any product is to cooperate with another players and increase the price. Jewels market is not very big, so I guess this will be easier than in other industries.
