research and profit questions

Post by Guest » 23.02.2008, 04:33

I have texile factories in Germany and Turkey and textile stores in the same countries. I have a planation in Mauritania. What research building would I need? Is it worth building it?

My stores and factories all have two employees. I have done a few contracts which has helped me to build these extra buildings. Is there any other buildings that you would suggest? What is the best way other than to contract? Should I sell in my stores or at market?

Thanks for your help

A Chemical RC would be needed to research textile things and the best place to put it would be in Germany. With a Chemical RC can research... Lotions Gas Chemicals Diamond rings Glass Golden necklaces Golden watches Wooden toys Jeans Leather Leather gloves Leather jackets Perfumes Plastic Stuffed animals Pullovers Shoes Shampoo Silver necklaces Silicon Toys Steel Textiles Detergents Toothpastes.

Check How much you can get when you sell on the market and in your stores. Sell where you can get the most profit. Contracts will help you get more money for your products depending on what you sell for...

Ok I am back and will answer your question, that you PMed me about then I found out that it was here.

Alright only buy a RC if you plan on going the long haul with it. Researching to like Q3 or Q4 and then stopping, is a waste of your time and might as well find someone to research for you. If you plan on going the long haul, you must think ahead and have enough money to keep the research going at all times. Research increases after every Q. Q0 cost 50 and where I am at Q33 it cost me 1.8 mil alone for just the Q33 research, now from Q0 to Q33 it cost me a total of 15.7 mil.

The research centers you will need will be a Chemical RC as Christopher said and a Cattle & Plant RC. With the C & P RC you can research cotton which will get you higher cotton, which will get you higher textiles if you are making textiles. If you arent making textiles, dont buy the C & P RC.

Depends on what you are getting into, if you are getting into leather jackets or gloves, build some more stores. You can't always make more selling to your stores than at contract or market. But you can help you cause in the stores make sure they are full of ads (40K points) and maybe you dont have to fill them all the way up. Lets say you have a store that can hold 500 units, only put in 250 to 300 and increase the price.

The only way better than contracts is the contest or store. Which the contest only comes once in a blue moon. Even if it is going, it may not be your product. Stores take a long times some times if you want to make a lot of profit. Other than that contract is probably the best way.

For example lets say you sold 1000 units at $500 per unit at the market. Now you sell the same unit but at $475 by contract. You are actually making more money by contract than market, just because that market takes in 10% of the total cost. So you are actually only getting $450 per unit at the market.

Any further questions you can reply here or mail me in game.

Ah, I did forget about cotton.

Thanks for the great replies.
Now I have built the two suggested research facilities. It says my leather jackets are researched at quality one and cotton at one. So, do I just make cotton and jackets as usual? I am unsure how this research has affected my outcome.

If I make my cotton with quality zero seeds and water, does the quality go to one automatically? In otherwards, he does my research help me? How do I apply my research?

Thanks

To get actual quality values you have to take the quality of each research and divide by the number of inputs. Example:

Seeds - water(always q0) + seeds research q1 divided by 2 (water and seeds research) is (0+1)/2=0.5q round down is q0 seeds.

Seeds - water q0 + seeds research q2 divided by two is (0+2)/2 = q1 seeds.

Going on to cotton - water q0 + seeds q1 + cotton research q2 divided by three(water, seeds and cotton research) is (0+1+2)/3 or q1 cotton.

Because everything uses either water or power or both, and they are never more than q0, research in production items must be higher than the quality of the finished product.

I am currently in the process of getting to where I can produce wood q10. Since wood uses 4 inputs (power, water, seeds and wood research) I have to get my seeds research to q26 (for q13 seeds) and my wood research to q27: 0+0+13+27 = 40/4 = q10 final poroduct. Getting a high quality can be more difficult than you think.

Hope this made sense.

Alright Q1 will not do any good you will need at least Q4 to get Q1 Leather Jackets. How you find this out is you can go to help and find it there make sure you add one to everything it takes so it take textiles, leather, power that is three but you also need to add the product itself so leather jackets making a total of 4

Leather jackets
elements:

1 kg Leather
1 kg Textiles
600 kWh Power

produce:
Textile factory
sell:
Textile store
research:
Chemical RC

or you can go to your factory and look there

Image

and add one again, to find the Q you have with your product, all products added together

Your Q researched divided by the total number of products needed
###/###

when you have multiple Q items all you have to do is add them together
Product + Product + Product + Product and so on...

To change the Q go to your factory screen and click here

Image

it will bring to a screen like this and tell you what I just told you

Image

enter a number between 0 and 127, you are supposed to change your q everytime you get a higher level but i just keep all of my buildings between 100 and 120

Hope this helps
