"Spam is the abuse of electronic messaging systems (including most broadcast mediums, digital delivery systems) to send unsolicited bulk messages indiscriminately.
While the most widely recognized form of spam is e-mail spam, the term is applied to similar abuses in other media: instant messaging spam, Usenet newsgroup spam, Web search engine spam, spam in blogs, wiki spam, online classified ads spam, mobile phone messaging spam, Internet forum spam, junk fax transmissions, and file sharing network spam".

So now we all know the definition of spam I guess.
But I don't think that is really the issue.
The issue is the annying long list of offers that some companies put on the market.

Personally I don't think you should make such a big deal about it, I would agree with you (00110110) if it would happen on a daily basis by the same companies over and over, but that is not the case.
And how many of the same offers would you consider spam anyway?
3? 4? 5? 10?
And what if I want to sell 1 bill power and decide I will cut them into nice pieces of 100 mil an offer,( that would be 10 offers) so that would not be allowed?
You get to put a certain amount of offers on the market, if people want to spend that amount on only one product they are free to do so in my opinion, even if it is a bit annoying for some of us.
:D

Well Ronintje clearly don't understand it. And if you agree with Ronintje then I guess you share the same understanding.

And wikipedia also says "Spamming, in the context of computer games, refers to the rapid, repeated use of the same item or action."

And this is exactly what I'm seeing at the market, same offer over and over again when there's no need for it.

And there's no clear rule what I know, of how many times you have to repeat something but you know it's spam when you see it.

Edit: And I do see it happen over and over again, same company, and when one does it and it seems ok, then others will follow.

Since this doesn't seem to be a problem big enough, Then I will start spamming offers, and I advice others that wan't to make it againt the rules do the same. Eventually this will have become a problem big enough and something must be done.

It seems that 40 offers is the maximum for me... When you come to the Shipping screen, just press back and press that that button again and repeat, it's faster that way.

Thanks for the tip.

edit: I think the point Ronintje was trying to make was that any mail/message that one does not like to receive is very quickly considered as spam. :D

Well if he don't like the discussion here then he can chose not to be a part of it. This is a forum for open discussion and I'm not forcing him to read all my messages or targeting them at him. Well maybe 1 or 2 but I was just answering him. I wouldn't call discussing on a forum as spamming.

sigh.. I think you misunderstood me..
I wasn't talking about YOUR message/post, I was talking about the subject that this topic is about: the "annyoing" list of offers put by one company on the market.
What I mean is: if you (or anyone) feel a certain message/mail/advert/etc (or in this case the long list of offers put on the market) is annoying, you would consider it as spam more quickly then if you were not bothered by it.
For example: all the mail I get from fake lotteries that I won 1 billion dollars or more, I find annoying because it is not true, and it is all a big scam.
so I consider that spam.
If i get 10 mails from a real lottery telling me I won 1 billion and it is actually true, I don't consider that as spam at all, I would not mind if they sent tme a 100 mails to tell me that!!
Technically a 100 mails would be spam, but in this case I would not consider it as such.
So that is what I ment. :D

Well spam is spam, whether or not I like or hate it, and I don't see how this relates to this discuttion.

Well, long story short: I don't see the offers as spam, and if they technically are, I am not disturbed by it. 8)

I can see how it could annoy somebody who was selling the same product dearer. Other than that I don't see a problem.

As has been said earlier if the product is cheap it won't be there very long, if it's dear it will go to the bottom with a sort.

Well, they technically are, and people do get disturbed by it.

"maybe you wan't to protect the spammers because you're one of them?"

Agreed.
My English is not very good and I don't want to argue with others. But I'm very surprised that we need to describe elementary rules of respect to other players. If these spam market offers don't disturb you, why do you think that they don't disturb others? If a seller comes to your house for 5, 10, 20 and more times and offers the same product for the same price, do you like this?

Nope, I don't spam, don't see the point in doing so.
usually the products I put on the market like stones or leather go very fast
and I put all my products in 1 offer, unless it is a different quality ofcourse.

I never said I don't think they disturb others, I can only speak for myself, and they don't disturb me.
Just giving my personal opinion.
Even if something is irritating to me I usually get over it soon because I don't want to "sweat the small stuff ".
I just don't think it is serious enough to get really pissed off or/and complain about.
At least not by me.
(No disrespect intended to people who do.)

There will always be something disturbing someone, this is normal when many people are involved in something.
Can't please everybody.

Yeye, I get what you're saying but, if you don't care then why can't you leave this thread alone then?

You're like, "hey it doesn't bother me, then it should be fine". But can you start thinking about those people that the spamming does disturb? Why take such a opposite stand? I'm here because I don't care just for myself, I care about others as well.

I reacted because I wanted to give my opinion like others do too.
Now I am starting to wish I had not.
And I don't really care for your argumentative way of responding.
I f you don't want reactions, don't open a thread.
If you only want reactions who agree with you,or that suit you, open up a fanclub.

Sure, opinions and valid arguments are always welcome but I'm hearing more then just that, And I think people should have some kind of motive at least, why else get so deeply involved? I mean, can I ask you why the market spamming should not be prohibited? Is it because it doesn't bother you?

Well, if you don't like debating and explaining yourself, then don't get so involved if you can't handle the ride
