A mistake that could cost me my game :(

Post by Guest » 02.04.2009, 20:12

Hi guys

i have made a mistake

i have been advertising to buy electricity for 0.08c.

running through my contracts i accidentally clicked on a contract for electricity for 0.8c. Unfortunately i didn't even take note of the company name that had sold me the contract :( If you happen to read this forum post please reverse this contract.

I have contacted the game administrators after i realized that my electricity cost jumped up and saw the mistake which was approximately 30 minutes after the contract was signed

I urge everybody to be careful when signing contracts

<sigh>

I think the person who sent the contract also made a mistake.
Goldeneye might be able to find out who it was.

Seeing as youve been honest, it wasnt a thing in your favor it wasn't your fault, so thankfully I don't think you will lose your account, you may get a warning saying check contracts more, if anything its the otehr guys fault more than yours :)

Im sure they can trace back Contracts... mayeb they shoulc make it a new thing, when you sign a contract you get a message yourself saying what it was you bought, the amount, the price, and who you bought it off.

Like the mails that the sellers get :)

Once more time a problem with contracts (I have already experienced that), wich led me to give up send and receice contracts. I think that should be implemented the possibility to set limits (up and down) to receive contracts.

Example:
Set power limits to - up: 0,27 down: 0,20
The player that set those limits only receive contracts of power that are between those limits (something like the ignore user) and the all other contracts would be reject automatically by the players account.

Aiva Ross is a good, honest player, doesn't deserve to get banned

Another thing you can do which I thought about only AFTER Aiva logged off  (very stupid of me) is simply scroll back through the pages until you get to the page you want to see, in Aivas case the page where he could see the contract and the sender of it.
Just use the left arrow in the upper left corner of your screen.

I messaged him but he had already logged off.

That would be a very good improvement.

Wow, wow, wow...
Hey - what are you worrying about? Nobody has talked about banning AivaRoss.
He contacted me and we can clear those things.

So please - keep calm. :)

We are calm, and not worried, why should we?
We know you will take care of this. :D

as I understand this game there is no rule broken by signing a contract that is way over priced...on the other hand I also think it suspicious that the contract was for .80... not ,75 0r .85 but .80 which is really really close in quick perception to .08...
I have received contracts of this nature..where either the Q or the price where "close" to the actual price I was willing to pay..and when you have lots of contracts you tend to rush thru them scanning for keywords only..and bang you've clicked just as your mind says whoa!! wrong number!!
was it a "mistake" on the senders part or was it a deliberate rip off??

well...golden eye is really helpful in trying to sort out this problem. I have been given the companies name and have sent them an igm to reverse the contract.

the 0.8 looks really funny. So its either a natural mistake by the sender or a con. It would be interesting to see what develops.

Ha yes, I had something like that happen to me last night.
A company sent me a contract for wardrobes, (I pay 1800 + 60Q, which is on my showcase and ad on this forum) and the price was exactly right on his contract, so i know he read my ad.

but then he sent me a message saying"you pay 28 for gas+1Q right?" and he already sent me a gascontract for that price.
So I told him, no, I pay 25+1Q,( which I also put very clear in my ad !! )and I cancelled the contract.

Got a message back where he complained,"at that price it is like giving the gas away" and he sent me a new contract for 26+1Q.
I cancelled again saying no it is 25+1Q, and then he said I was making a fuzz about 1 cap!!

Haha, so I answered him: no I am making a fuzz about 2 mil caps! since he sent me a contract for 2 mil gas.
I told him if he didn't like my price don't sell it to me but to someone else.
So finally he sent me the contract for 25+1Q.

I get many gascontracts, and 10 like his every day would cost me 20 mil caps a day.
Some players just don't seem to realize that.

I do pay more sometimes for a few small companies, but that is MY decision, not theirs.

And Aiva Ross: I hope you will sort it out with this company.

Actually there is.
It is not allowed to pay more then real price for any item.

And 0.80 is 3x the npc price so will definatly be considered rule breaking.

But in this case i guess its obvious there wasn't an intention on Aiva's side to cheat.
And a mistake is very well possible so i doubt the sender tried to scam either.
Just check the market regularly and see how often there are seeds for sale at 25-27c or power at 10c or 0.90 where it is obvious the guy either forgot the dot or a 0.
Many people make mistakes like this.

Only few days ago i noticed a 8000m plantation on the market at 1.1M.
I bought it and waited for the seller to answer, and guess what he wrote he intended to sell at 1.1B.
So i returned him the plantation at 1.1M.
I did the same thing with a CC once to, send it at 300 instead of 300M...

Just to point out, these things happen regularly and only rarely on purpose.
I bet everybody did it once or twice, but mostly people notice before the contract is accepted :P

I think it was a mistake. If I type 0.08 fast lets see what happens:

0.080

Hmmm if I missed out the first zero. Personally I would think its just a typing error as there are te 0 and 8 near each other and everything :)

@Goldeneye: I knew I was right in my first post XD thank you very much
