Realm 2: Another contest spiked...
I'll repeat my statement that i did a couple of contests ago:
I will not participate in any contests any more on realm 2, because 95% of all contests so far were rigged.
Best example is again the latest one (i think it was wardrobes). The company who won came - again - basically out of nowhere. The company who the gold-medalist thanked as being the main contributor suddenly disappeared from its No. 1 Fixed-Asset Ranking.
This has happened so many times now, and I'm just recording it so people see that every 2nd contest, some new cheater wins and is banned. What this does is ruin the contests for the other more honest players.
More when the next contest ends.

So what is the solution? I've heard that people in the Top 100 get scrutinized for cheating and Top 10 even more so. Perhaps then, the major contest product suppliers for the top companies in the competition should be looked into for evidence of cheating - the earlier on in the contest, the better. To catch them after the end of the contest only hurts more since that effectively removes billions in cash from the game that should have gone to legitimate smaller companies.
If this is as widespread phenomenon as you suggest (I'm highly skeptical of the 95% argument since that means only once has a R2 contest been legitimately won), then this represents a major black hole of cash being removed from the realm every 2 weeks. This stunts the growth of wealth in the entire realm.

What happened to PTT-1991?? He was an old player and he had recently become the number one in fixed assets. Why did he disappear???Socronoss wrote: The company who the gold-medalist thanked as being the main contributor suddenly disappeared from its No. 1 Fixed-Asset Ranking.

Yo Socronoss,
since your last post i have moved UP seven places on the fixed asset table in R2.
Not because i raised my fixed assets to the 680Mil mark which was the next up the list, but because 7 of the competitors above me are no longer there.
Its obviously a nervous place to be if you Are in the top hundred.

Nice idea.sally wrote:I guess the savest place to be (and stay) is on page 2 of Fixed Assets.
But I can tell you: Every place is safe unless you cheat.
Companies that use unallowed business strategies and thus act against the rules will get banned.
I would like to draw your attention to the rules again.

Yes I know the rules GoldenEye, I am sure most of us do, but it looks as if the bigger players get monitored more closely and much stricter then smaller companies, I don't understand why a big company would suddenly start cheating with the risk of loosing everything after many months of building his business and playing it straight.
I have the feeling like with Dominance that 1 mistake is enough to get your account deleted and that is a bit scary.

Well... let me explain that.
It's not correct that the larger companies get checked more intensively...
Our tools control all companies and their businesses.
It's more eye-catching when a Top-100-player gets banned than someone at place 3,000 or whatever. That is why you had the impression that we check the larger companies more closely.
Nobody of you has any numbers how many cheaters in the Top 3,000 have been banned because simply nobody is interested in those stats.
But when e. g. a player from the Top 40 is missing, everyone of you is able to notice that quickly.
Before someone feels treated unfair:
Would you like to see a Top 100 in the stats that only includes companies that cheat? Would it be fair to be a Top 100-player because you got there by cheating?
Those top-players get some kind of "honour" for being so successful. They get asked by other players, the top-players give smaller ones hints and so on.
What would that be worth if you have to fear that they cheated? Absolutely nothing!
And about the rules:
Yes, I am also sure that most of us know them... but unfortunately there are players - again and again - that cheat. It cannot be hindering to read them several times.
Ahh... a final word about the so-called "mistakes":
Of course someone can make a mistake. When he did one he can ask the other player to send him back an identical contract (e. g. when someone sold something at too low prices... you can easily contact the other players and start a return-contract).
But when those "mistakes" happen regularly and when they are not turned back... well... then we don't have got a mistake anymore, then it is cheating.
Cheating needs to get punished!

That is true ofcourse.GoldenEye wrote: It's more eye-catching when a Top-100-player gets banned than someone at place 3,000 or whatever.
The mistakes that I was thinking of have more to do with the grey area between selling with discount and being considered cheating.
Discounts are many times given to regular and good business relations, so where is the thin line?
Is there a percentage/calculation to figure trhis out?
And yes, real cheating should definitely be punished.

Well... pointing out strict borders leads to the situation that all players apapt their "good relation"-prices to those borders.
Let's make an example:
Let's say that the lowest price that is allowed for steel is 50 Caps. So 49.99 Caps would be cheating.
The result would be that all players would set their "good relation"-prices to 50 Caps and they all would play "fair"... but is 50 Caps really better than 49.99 Caps?
I know you got the point.
Why don't you all just play the way to get as many Caps as possible for your products?
If you want to say "Thanks" to someone you can buy him a present-status symbol.
And speaking about "real cheating" implies "unreal cheating"... do you think that this is a reasonable distinction?
In my opinion there is only "cheating". And that is not allowed.

Yep, got the point..
Don't agree with all of what you say though, for instance about:" all players would set their "good relation"-prices to 50 Caps",
because I don't think they would.
but I saw your *sigh* in another cheating post problem, so I will end our little talk about this here.
BUT... just 1 more thing
cheating versus uncheating:
Cheating :
1. To deceive by trickery; swindle:
2. To deprive by trickery;
3. To mislead;
4.To act dishonestly; practice fraud.
5. To violate rules deliberately, as in a game: was accused of cheating at cards.
Not really cheating to me means the opposite to all of the above.
And now I will shut up about it.

Sorry, but I think that's something you need to check by your own.
I cannot give you any further information about the company names. That would some kind of denunciation... and this is something that nobody of us wants.
And to be honest: I am sure you'll recognize if you lost a trading partner... at the latest, when products miss or if your contracts don't get accepted.
