Wardrobes Q3

Post by Guest » 19.10.2008, 20:42

Well, another contest that doesn't work for me!
My Q19 wardrobes are selling in my stores for around 4100 each, why would I switch to Q3 to sell for 3500?
Too many of the big players can do wardrobes - these are the people that usually buy contest products. And if they are making it for themselves, they aren't going to pay much for other peoples..

I'll stick to my Q19's.

A realistic price would be 5000+ in my opinion.

I agree... although I usually make Q13 wardrobes and sell them to other players for 2650 ea... and now I am able to make Q3 for 3500 ea... that is better in my case.

But if my shops weren't expanding... it would have been bad.

Please do not forget that a contest shall bring some variety to the game.
That is its primary intention. ;)

The fact that you can earn some extra money with some contests is nice and also helpful for many players but its not the basic idea.

I know that we all are some little capitalists but please don't forget: This is a game and a contest gives us the possibility to vary some aspects of it. :)

I think that the most fair thing to do would be to scrap the current contest and do one with power as the product instead ;)

Q2 power!

Hey wait... 8)

Actually I find it interesting that the wardrobes are so underpriced as to not be worth Hebawom's time. I would have figured that isn't even possible, with some of the crazy price spikes we've seen.

I would regard it a normal situation when this contest apparently is not popular among non furniture making players.

Well I just play in R2, but hmm... As a gas maker you won't try to buy all the wardrobes and win the contest?
1. price/production rate ratio is so high for wardrobe. That's exactly what makes wardrobe profitable though, even the profit margin is low. It draw cash from buyers like crazy.
2. Wood/Steel is readily available and unlimited supply from NPC. You can pump out wardrobe like crazy! Unlike those beer, ice cream contests we had before (Indeed I believe 3rd-tier products are more interesting for a contest, as the situation will be more complex, and more challenge to players when they need to acquire semi-products instead of just raw materials)
3. Huge joineries in hand of big wardrobe makers, which makes non wardrobe makers stupid to try to compete. The effort is too high. (Same case applies if we got a contest for glass/chemical/plastic for example, gas maker will join, but wardrobe makers hesitate)

I could win the contest on realm 2, but I would not be able to expand very much. I would have to continue buying wardrobes from my suppliers and selling them in stores while my joineries pump out 45k wardrobes a day at 2.3k cost each which adds up to 103.5 mio and I only make around 50 mio profit from my stores so I would be losing money in the long run if I just sent them into the contest. If I sold them to other players like FUTECH I could make some money, but 3k per wardrobe is only 700 profit and I can make a lot more selling high q wardrobes in my stores.

Overall, the contest is stirring things up in a bad way: no wood or wardrobe suppliers. So now I have to make most of them myself with npc products for a cost of 2.3k and I can sell my q9 wardrobes for around 3100 in stores so I won't make much money for another 250 hours...

And if you just made Q3 and put them on the market they easily sell for 3500 ^^ I just done 200k wardrobes on the market and they were sold in less than 2h ;) So the contest is fun :)

The price has dropped to 2750 in realm 2 so I also stopped producing Q3 and will now go back to Q9 to sell them in my own stores. Hoped to get big profit this time :(

Don't worry... New contests will follow. ;)

And I personally find it very interesting to read all your comments. It's very informative for me. Let's see what I can think about when the next contest will be started. :)

And please do not forget: The contest-product is always bad for people trading with it because they need to re-think their company structure for the duration of the contest.
