And the bible is full of mistakes

Once there was a greek philosoph who said something like "God was 'created ' to make the people believing in something and to respect the laws they did not before". And I think that guy was right
i believe that as well

I agree with you Dwarf, I think God was created or "rumored" to have become a "living thing" so that we have something to live for, and have something or someone who we think will be ashamed of us if we do wrong.

If we didnt believe or think there was a god there would be no point in living due to the fact that we have nothing to work up to.

Dwarf what keeps you going if you dont believe or think there is a god?

I dont think that there is a god either. I just live my life, and when its my time to go ill die, and after i die ill be barried in a box, or cremated (or chronologically frozen  ) and that will be all.

why would they freeze you after you die? myself i prefer the box

So you basically live your life a "normal" life just like the rest that believe in him. Myself I probably would to but I am raised a Christian so I always will be one.

No Dwarf, and Myth were you raised Christians or were you raised not believing.

i was raised to believe whatever i want, and i don't believe in religion, but respect that others do. Oh and the chronologically freeing thing, shortly after you die, the drain all your blood, then they put (forget the name of it so ill call it) unrealizable liquid into your vain's so they don't crystallize and becom unusable. Then they put you in a freezer (not like your conventional freezer, i think they use liquid nitrogen or something) and if in a few hundred years they have the technology to unfreeze people, then they will unfreeze you. And i would like to do this just to see how mankind has evolved, if counties (like us and Canada) have join together to make 1 country, (which i hope they don't) and what technological advancements we have made.

And if you are REALLY interested in this stuff, go and check out the quantum theory, it is difficult to grasp but it gets as close to religion as science can get.

I don't have a religion either, but I believe in a God, not as a separate being but indeed as "the force"in everything.

God was never created but has always been there.

time is relative, everything is happening at the same time, but we just experience it as "passing time".
Well, that is what I think anyway.
But then, I might be wrong..

And whatever you believe or don't believe, it is not important, just experience the mystery that you will never know or fully understand how why and when.
It makes live exciting. :D

first of all, god is a figure we have all grown up under. Faith, is the only proof we have of his existence. We have grown to believe in. Could not be created, could not be formed. That's all we know. And if you dont believe in god, then I don't know how you believe in the big bang theory. First there was nothing, then that nothingness blew up and made the universe. :S
What does that even mean?! I guess thats why its been just a theory for so long.

And god created the earth, then man. That was just what was said. You dont know what happened in between. I guess I'm just giving my feedback but im not VERY religous and there are other people that could get this idea through better than me

well the thing behind big bang is that we cant possibly know what was before. therefore it can not be subject to any scientific investigation and thats why no scientist ever talks about it. you can however believe in the theory (which has its flaws but is for now the best we can do in describing our univers)

no serious scientist that is.

the problem with god is that you can not prove or disprove his existence with objective methods and therefore can not be subject to any scientific discussion

an atheist is walking in the woods enjoying nature.
out of nowhere comes a huge hungry Grizzly bear and chases the person.
Finally the Grizzly catches the atheist..and as he is about to eat him the atheist drops to his knees and prays to God..please save me I will convert.Evrything stops and a voice from nowhere and everywhere says...all your life you have not believed and have attempted to persuade people to your way of thinking ..but now that your life is in danger you all of a sudden have a conversion?? why should I believe you???
the atheist replies...if you do not believe me at least make the Grizzly Bear a Christian...
The Voice replies.......that I will do...
The Atheist looks into the jaws of the Grizzly as the Grizzly stops and drops to his Knees...and says." Bless you Oh Lord for what I am about to receive"

farmboy wrote:"God I hope I find this" and after a short while you find it
Haven't you found things without asking your "God" for assistance? I have found a lot of things ;)

---
Concerning what early humans ate, and used for hunting:
It can be seen at the human teeths that we are "mixed" eaters. (=We eat both meat and plants and such.)
No tools/weapons are needed to pic berries, plants and such. Even apes INVENTS and uses tools/weapons. (For instance they use fiting stones to crack things. In test there are shown they can invent tools, for instance when they can't reach otherwice things they want.) So don't you believe early humans could make tools/weaopons too? ;)

---
This topic have become long, but as some scientist said (something like):
"Impossible to have a logic discussion with a (fanatic) religious persons about their "God", because they are stucked in their believes."

I have many real life examples logic isn't a strong skill among religious people. For instance an earlier RL business partner of mine skipped sending an offer, which we would have got with high profit if he had just send it, "because we can be [censored] on our commision". But by not sending it we SURELY couldn't got the profit, and if sending the fax then we just risk a few cents... ;)

---
The answer of your first question is VERY simple. Things, which ever have excisted (as "God" other in the mind of some people) have ever excisted ;)

If trying to have a logic discussion with a fanatic religious concerning their "God":
You claim "God" has power to do anything he wants. (I don't remember the English expression, which religious people uses for this.) When looking at what happens in the world, that makes there can only excist theese three alternatives:
1. "God" don't have power to solve things. Why having him then? ;)
2. IF he have the claimed power, then he is evil, because he don't stop very unfair things, which happens to for instance innocent children >:(
3. Or he don't excist.

That normaly makes even Jehovas Witness people having no arguments left ;-)

---
Btw When I have made genealogic (=finding my ancestors) research, some researches made by others show line connections between my ancestors and both Adam and Eve and Odin and Thor and such (to other ancestors of mine) but I don't believe theese lines are corect ;-)
(If not else, is the line to the first humans much to short in time.)
