Dear Wood Producers

Post by Guest » 27.11.2007, 13:48

Hi there all,

I am getting concerned about the wood price seeing the market atm :?
a month ago price was round 60 caps each, and its falling below 40 now,
and nearing 30 if this continuse....

So i am asking all of you, plz drive the price up again, cause poeple who need wood will buy it anyway, cause when wood was at his peak (60-70)
people stil bought them....

It would be sad if the wood price would get destroyed, but i cant do this alone....

When I log in ,I was looking for something like that..because I am wood producer(not very big but..)so when the price decrease I was confused and even it continue..50$...40$ and maybe soon 30$ :(((

The price of stones goes down too.And maybe I will get stuck :(((
Because I produce stones too.

I hope that the price of stone and wood will rise again :!:

the best way to drive prices of wood up is to build some joineries and furniture stores and use up all your wood (and buy more if needed). i have been doing that myself for quite some time now.

I would just like to point out that if wood prices are high, it doesn't take a genius to start thinking "hey, I'm going to just build my own Plantation instead of paying these guys." Maybe they even start selling it themselves. Now you're not just dealing with a few lower prices - you have oversupply. No one needs what you have at all, and you have to drop the price just to beg someone to take it.

Be careful what you wish for.

well i can understand this, but wood is going under the 40 if this goes on and thats a big drop realy....as for people building there own plantations,
well as i said....when wood was at the highest peak (60-70) people stil bought them cause there wasent any lower, but under 40 and 60+ is a big gap and alot of los realy, and the price should go atleast up to round 55

Yes, people still bought wood in the 70s, but that was mainly because expanding plantations takes a while, and each expansion only provides a small increase in the amount of wood produced.

I was one of those people buying up all the high Q wood I could get my hands on to keep my joineries running, but at the same time I was expanding my plantations to get away from the high prices. Now I'm self sufficient for the high Q stuff, and only buying the low quality stuff in the 40s or lower for expansion.

So that's 200,000 taken out of the daily demand pool, and I'm sure there are others in similar situations.

stil, the prices now are getting to low :?

people keep undercutting each other and driving it down more and more.
wood was always a solid 55 orso, and be real below 40 isent normal anymore, and it wil get to 30 to if nothing is being done :!:

so again to all wood producers....dont sell below 55 plz and a good way to drive the price up and this is where we need to work together with, is to stop selling wood on market for a day or 2 and the buyers wil go up in price believe me, but this has to be done by many....

For what it's worth, for many months in Realm 1, wood was at 17...

raw material prices fluctuate unlike any other products. this is especially true for wood

a month or 2 back, wood prices started to rise. a lot of big companies compete with each other about wood. practically everyday, you can see faxes asking for wood. the price steadily rises as big companies snap and stock up wood. also at the same time, more new wood producers come into the market to take advantage of the price

now the price has dropped drastically, simply because demand > supply

Exactly. When I started, wood was 35-40. Then it started rising. I went into the wood industry (stones as well) and my company got bigger.

Meanwhile, wood prices are dropping. Instead of begging here to artificially put the wood price upwards, I bought some joineries some weeks ago. These I am expanding continously, in order to be ready if the wood price drops. If not, I still will use them, or I can always sell them for a good price.

If there is no demand, the price goes down, simple as that. People who think they will, or do, not earn enough this way, they can start another business. Sell your wood industry. After you sold, demand and supply will be more equal, in order to let the prices raise again. If not, they continue to go lower to such a point, that the players who can stand it the longest will survive. The game will start over from that point.

PS: If you create stones, and the stone price drops, you easily can switch to other materials which have a higher price at that moment. If not, you just keep producing, and accept it, or you leave that specific production market.

Yes, the hourly profits of stones will likely not drop below the hourly profits of iron, or coal, because these two are very desirable in Q0 as well (for Q0 construction steel). And X m

there are several posts here all saying the same thing. when supply exceeds demand, prices drop. but they'll get to a point pretty soon where the big guys will realise its at a good price and start stocking up. i make 250k q14 wood per day but i use most of it for wardrobes. i'm snatching up any wood below 38 for expansion and others will do the same, so unless its your sole income, don't worry. if it is, maybe you should have a back up product.

i produce abt 500k Q10-Q12 woods everyday, although there is a huge drop in pricing, it really doesnt affect me much. if i wan to earn more to cover the time when wood is still 60-70, i can jus switch my focus to new prouct to cover the earning.

jus my 2 cent

This is just like the stock market. The actions of everybody determine what happens to the prices of certain stocks. Problem is, do I want to take advantage of this and stockpile on cheap wood and then wait for the prices to go back up? I produce wood myself but I am barely making a profit if I hold on to all the wood I am producing. Who knows when the prices will increase again.

I produce big amount of Wood. Aprox of 300k a day Q11. I figure that this would happen sooner or later so i make a furniture out of em and it did not affect me very much at all.
