OH GOD, a GOD question!
My Favorite subject, talking about myself, he he he.
First of all, god did not create man, man created god.
God has two purposes.
1) to help man deal with his insecurities with life and to help him understand his environment better.
it was such a horrible thing living way back when, digging in the dirt for food or chasing some strange animal around to throw sticks at it.
Time consuming and pains taking and in the end you still might starve to death.
wouldn't it be much easier if there was some hidden force controlling things and we could some how win it favor.
After all, why is it that one day I can easily catch an elk and the next day I can't.
How come it rains one day, to grow my crops then dry for months.
there must be some force controlling things, so you would think.
Yes, but I can't see it, so this force must be invisible, right?
Well, man certainly was heading in the right direction, but just when you thought he was on the right track he suddenly jumps off into left field and starts to attribute things to some god or another.
Certainly there was an invisible forces controlling things,
Meteorology and weather patterns would control the weather,
Animal behavior as well as many other factors might influence the density and availability of elk in any given location at any particular time.
But we didn't understand such things then, so we marked up to some god or another.
It make it easier for us, it make us feel good that we prayed or chanted, carved enough idols or sacrificed enough goats that these unseen gods would bless us with their favor and we could rest our weary heads and not worry about such things anymore, as we have gods to take care of it for us now.
But alas you might wake up to find that it still didn't rain and you still couldn't catch that elephant you'd been chasing all day, so of course you must have unknowingly done something to displease these gods, if you could just figure out what and how.
but these days we do not have to worry about this anymore,
we do understand the principles behind such invisible forces,
We have the weatherman on the TV telling us if it is going to rain for not, a week in advance before we even leave the house in the morning.
We don't need the god of the hunt to help us survive, as we can just go to the grocery store and pick up some hamburger that has been stacked nice and neatly in individually wrapped packages for us.
So we no longer need the rain gods,
But gods have changed as man has changed,
The god of the hunt became the god of war as man changed his god to suit his needs of that day.
And today people worship other gods for other needs.
Christians I suppose worship their god so they'll get that nice shinny red fire engine for Christmas or with the affection of that girl they like.
Perhaps god could arrange things so that we will get a raise at work or keep me from getting testicular cancer.
But as this is a nation of convenience there is no need to run around trying to find any goats to slaughter, you can just drop some money in the offering plate and god will use it to buy himself a goat if he needs one.
The Christian god has really just become a multi god, one stop shopping, one size fits all, monotheistic supper natural needs for your spiritual convenience for a consumer marketplace, have a nice day.
but the same principles apply,
this god is still just there, invented by us, to help us feel better about the aspects of our lives that we can not control and to help us in our attempts to understand the world we live in a little better.
Jews, I don't know, not sure I should even dare bringing the subject up on a German message board, but I guess their religion centers around the idea that everyone else in the world should be killed or enslaved, as they are their gods "Chosen people".
not trying to start a fight, just being technical about it.
but again, it is the same thing,
the Jewish god is a left over War god and the Jews in particular have done so piss poor badly at the art of war in their history they really really really needed a war god to assist them, so they invented one, just as all man invents his own god for his own needs.
Farmers would worship the rain god,
Hunter the god of the hunt,
Warriors the gods of war,
Fisherman the gods of the sea, etc, etc, etc,
As a noted example just to prove my point, the greeks made their living off the sea, trade and for food and Poseidon played a major role in their pantheon, while the Romans made war on others and you found Mars or Jupiter to favored gods. American Indians hunted, mostly and had nature spirits to help them.
but all these gods are now useless in a modern age, if not detrimental, so we need a new god, a god that will get us laid and give us lots of money.
no wonder, no doubt we seen satanism more prevalent in todays culture, as he would help all us insecure frightened little people get the things we need in live but are too stupid to figure out how to get ourselves.
Again not criticizing, just critiquing.
But alas, even in major organized religion people do have a tendency to create their own god or at least interpret their god the way they wish them to be.
So to answer your question on who created god, you did.
2) The second purpose for gods is just a means of controlling the masses.
It's been going on for ages, the ruling class elite defines who god is and what he wants and you run around on bended knees doing his/their bidding.
Ever other Thursday your preacher will tell you whatever accused tyrant in history is the Antichrist and you need to pack up all your goodies and run off across the world to kill him for Halibertion energy corp, err, I mean for god.
Weather it was Charlemagne, Hitler, Stalin, Sadam, napoleon, Ben Laden, the nation always defines itself as good and always defines the enemy as evil, on both sides, to get your stupid ass to run off and get shot to make your rulers rich and richer.
It's been going on since Ancient Egypt and likely before.
So to answer your question again, who created god, they did.
As for the dinosaurs, this is their planet and they want it back dammit.
Perhaps they'll pray to the god of faulty real estate transactions.
