Poll of the week: what kind of "Trader" are you?
More details can be found in our today's KapiTimes:
Tell us how much you trade: are you a re-seller, do you have only shops, do you never trade with other players?
Why did you decide to do so and does your business model meet your expectations?
We are keen to learn that from you! Thanks for your participation...

i don't know what to choose in this vote.
i have my own shops.
i'll not expand it more because shop gives me less profit than trade.
i also have RCs.
i trade about 70%-85% and usually i sell it back what i've bought to get profit because demand for that product is higher than i can produce.
i think i will choose 3rd choice ^^

I do not have any shops at the current time, but I plan to eventually have some. I originally started with them, because I really liked the idea of manufacturing jeans, but I found out that the textile to make my jeans out of, was already worth more on the player market than what the NPCs were ready to pay for my finished product costing extra time and power. So in other words, making jeans out of textiles would cost me money. Plus when expanding, selling the textiles instead of jeans was saving me the expansion costs of an extra transformation step, as well as the stores.
I eventually figured out that textiles can still make good money when further processed, but instead of jeans, it has to be into leather jackets, which didn't appeal to me so much.
In the long run, I'd love to give a try to stores though, and run something in the jewelry branch, on the side of my textile activities. So make the pool again in 2 months, and I might very well be 50/50 between player sales and stores, or even a big jewelry tycoon with just a bit textile on the side. But in the meantime, I'll stick to 100% player sales for a while longer, to have a solid income helping me finance all the losses and mistakes I'll probably make when starting to setup stores and play around with them =)

I started out in kapilands wanting to produce computers, mainly because I am a computer major. Soon I learned that it would take time and a lot of caps to do what I wanted. I then started producing just raw materials and selling to other players. After reading the very first interview that the newspaper had with the company that produced glass I was determined to be the best at something.. I soon decided that I was going to produce Gold. My goal is to become the LARGEST gold supplier in kapilands. I am pretty sure I am one of the highest if not the highest quality gold producer already with my Q8 gold. For a long time I did nothing but sell my gold to other kapilanders. I have bought a few shops now and my goal now is to produce some jewelry and sell in shops. Even though I have not really used my shops yet, I am waiting until I get my daily supplies up enough so I can still supply my customers with gold AND produce jewelry..
a bit of everything, i produce much of what i need, though occassionally need to buy raw materials to facilitate expansion. most of my production goes towards my store sales, and the excess intermediary materials go up for sale either by contract or via the market depending on which gives me the best return.

I'm Similar to Suppliers Inc... i started out wanting to be a Producer of all resources needed for building stuff, hence my Company name... but i eventually realized Also by the Newspaper Interview with the Company that was biggest Glass seller that this was allmost impossible at the beginning, so i started concentrating on 1 area. I chose the Mines, because they still allowed alot of resources to be produced out of 1 building... but i had hard time finding profitable buyers, then shortly after, i met SeoeS.. who wanted all my Oil out of my 5 Oil wells at that time. I didnt produce much, only like 10-15K Oil, But he was my Best Buyer and the Profit started to grow more then what i made with the Mines when i made a few more Wells.
Now my Goal is to be the Largest Oil Supplyer, i know i am still far from my goal because i see higher quality market Oils... i can only Produce Q8 Oil currently but am close to Q9. I also still have my mines, but their mainly used for Stones for construction, and i sell off the extra. I have about 8 Power Plants aswell since the Oil wells use up so much Power i would go broke if i had to buy it all. Today i produce about 100K Oil with my now 20 200m2 Oil wells and i am constantly expanding now. SeoeS is still my Exclusive Buyer of all my Oil, and i wouldnt be as large as i am now if it wernt for his support... THANKS!!
so thats what i do.. Produce my Power, Produces my stones for construction and am Growing to be the largest Oil supplyer in Kapilands!!

I focus on raw material and their extension.
I have 3 main activities :
- Construction
- Plantation
- Holding which owns the power and water pipes.
The holding is suppliying the two others activities, Construction is building my own business and I am sell it in TIB at discount price, and Plantation makes Cotton and Wood at high quality only. At the moment, I am going into those business extension such as Textiles and Joinery.
I have few suppliers or in high quality standard such as cotton and seed because I don't produce enough for myself. I privilege my business partner in my choice of clients or suppliers as much as I can. A kind a private circle, thus my supplier are also my clients. This has the benefit to be honest and fair with them.

Atm all of of my income comes from the market. I've only been playing for about 2-3 weeks. I started with corn and I'm still in it, although I also have a cattle-breeding, 3 wells, 4 power fac's, 1 mine and 1 jewel factory.
I'm starting to doubt of what I should continue with: corn, corn & cattle, wood, gold/silver & jewelry or water & power
(Anyone has a suggestion

I started in oil and mining and later branched out into producing wood to jumpstart my operations a bit. The reason I selected oil was because I wanted a product that I could research and expand what I do with it later (refining/selling in shop) as time goes on. Power is boring to me because its always Q0, so your income is static.
I also like mining because the returns are there. They aren't the greatest but coal is a very stable commodity.
Right now I'm not quite happy with the direction I am taking my company becaue I am investing more in plantations than wells and mines, but doing this is a short term-solution that will get me to my long-term goal quicker.

Wasn't hard for me. Supply power, supply power. I currently have 5 factories which allows me some extra power so please pm me if you want a constant supplier. Right now, I mainly send contracts to common buyers.
I did not start this way. My first company name was "Majestic Enterprises" After a while, I gave up all my other businesses for power because of how easy it was to make it It required less time for me to be online. I could go online once a month if I wanted to. I just like that sense of freedom. Also, I don't require anybody to supply me with anything, since it's a raw material.

What does that mean?ganman wrote:Why is there not 20% from players rest in shop cause realy that be better. I only buy from 1 guy but i sell the rest
I tend to over produce what I need for steel or T.V.'s and when I still need required products I buy them from the market.
I chose option 4.
I have a mixture out of everything: I trade about 50% or less of my required products.
At the moment 100% of my income comes from marketplace and contracts. At the begining I had one gas station but I sold it later in the game.
Now I produce so much that I have problems with selling it all. If it wasn't for one of my long term customers sometimes I wouldn't even have money to continue production.
Right now I'm changing my production from chemicals to plastic.
I'm waiting to get to manager level so I can sell some buildings and go into retail buissness. I'm not sure yet what exactly will I sell but it has to be something related to my previous products. Anyone has any ideas what to make with chemicals and/or plastic?
