General Question
Before I get to the reason for this message, I am going to put in place a disclaimer. Why? Because I don't want anyone to think that I am trying to cause problems or be a pain in the butt. I don't have all of the history that some of you have in the game and I am SINCERELY just trying to get a grasp about some of the concepts. In fact, there are some of you who I have done business with on a regular basis and you know that I am an honest player who is growing his company quickly.
Now, for the meat of my post. When is it determined that one person (or several people) is controlling the market in a particular area? When I first started playing this game (3+ months ago), a person could buy coins for about 95,000. Even a couple of weeks ago, it was pretty common to see coins being purchased for 100,000.
Recently, a player announced that he was leaving the game. This particular player has a whole slew of cash and has started advertising the daily purchase of 1,000 to 2,000 coins. Each day the price has gone up. Today, a fax states a buying price of 135,000. Other people who are staying in the game are having to change their buying prices in order to get what they need. I just find this a little peculiar that a person who is leaving needs this many coins. Can anyone shine any light onto this?
Again, please do not take any offense to this. Consider it a newer player trying to gain an insight on a facet of the game that I do not completely understand.

1. Remember this person will be quiting very soon.
2. In the german version coins are up to around 1Mill each. It is only natural for the coin price to go up over time.
3. Why is this player buying coins? The answer is in #2. If he ever comes back he will have an insain amount of coins that he can sell for a major profit because coins will always go up. Just think about when coins hit 1Mill on this server he can be cashing in BIG TIME.

The coins thing has gotten out of control. I've never understood why a fairly new player would have a need for a big chunk of coins. I used to be in the market of buying/selling them, and I would often get requests from companies that just had to have 100 coins right away. 20 at a time makes perfect sense, or getting 2 or 3 months worth at a time even. But a newer player would be far better served in using their Kapis to expand their company than spending it on coins.
Then there are the players who are going out with a bang, and wrecking all kinds of havoc on the various markets (some intentional, others not intentional).

In the first world of the german version coins have a price of 15 mio.
There have been several discussions about the coins in the german forum. Conclusion: It is like it is and will not change. And I see no problem here. If someone wants to spend all his money in coins, stay offline for a year and then sell the coins 10 times higher... That

:?Does That Mean?:
I buy coins sometimes via contract from other players. This is because I have a problem with credit
. I have to earn caps within the game to buy these coins each month, or my VIP Premium buildings will fall out of my control. Once I reactivate my VIP status I will regain control of my Premium buildings.
Now if the price of coins goes through the roof my company will have to pay these prices.
:)What I really Think:)
I think because I have premium buildings, my profits are increased
and therefore, it only takes me a few days per month to buy enough coins for another month of VIP status.
As long as I keep growing in terms of profit and expansion I shouldn't have a problem with paying the extra for coins.
If someone else wants to buy coins with cash and sell them to me for caps, it's great for us both. They get extra caps and my company gets more buildings. We get to play the full version.
Having an extra 40 buildings is a real challenge.
