dbsuma wrote:They say that 90% of all the worlds’ wealth is concentrated in 10% of the population.
So why have 50% of the British and 50% of the American political party system devoted to only 10% of the population?
i think you really misunderstood it, they didn't mean that there is 90% of wealt concentrated in 10% of population in every country. They didn't mean that 90% of congo's wealth belongs to 10% of congo population, consider it more global, so mabe there are more than 50% of poeple in Britain that belong to that 10% of people that own the wealth and that's why they have the party.

I didn't study politics, so i know about that thongs just in general, but I never heard of that names that you called the British parties. I think that they are called Conservative Party and Labour Party

dbsuma wrote:No Dr. Vic that is not how the world works at all.
In America those who are most willing to prostitute themselves and do as they are told are advance and those with integrity and are able to think for themselves are pushed down.

It is like evolution upside down,
The weak and easily controlled are pushed up,
The independent and strong are pushed down.
Granted there are always other people on the bottom already but if they sell themselves to the right people and do as they are told to do then they will do nicely in America or Britain.
so you consider the ones that study university and those that have a good business plan and are not afraid to fulfil it "The weak and easily controlled" and you call those lazy uneducated idiots that don't put any effort to making thair life better "The independent and strong"

well, using your terminology, i think it's right to push up "The weak and easily controlled" and push down "The independent and strong"

just to clarify that i don't support american military actions, actually i don't care, they probably know what they're doing and we can speculate about the motives but we simply don't have enough information to judge

if i could choose, there would be no war, but i can understand that after surviving WWII without any harm, they were really disapointed by 09/11 and acted like that

That's correct. But I have to fill you in so you can appreciate how hilarious that "misunderstanding" (to be generous) is.

The House of Commons and the House of Lords are the two chambers of Parliament that were established over 700 years ago. The latter exists mostly as a figurehead, much as the Royal Family does, and has been pretty powerless for almost a century now. The elected officials, from both parties, make up the House of Commons which is all anyone really talks about.

He might as well have said the two parties are the Magnas versus the Cartas. And lest we forget, this was to support the argument that people are brain dead because they're comfortable with two parties.

And hey England, speaking of the Magna Carta, what's up with that thing? It's written in like Latin or something, is that trick to keep the common man down? Get with the times!

Oh yes, The House of Lords and The House of Commons.
I wish I could write comedy this good.
Seriously, that is what the two houses of British Parliament is called.
I know to us Americans that sounds like incredibly bad taste but that is actually what they call their political parties.

"The British Parliamentary System:
The British Parliament has been in existence since 1215, when King John signed the Magna Carta.
Parliament consists of two chambers, the House of Commons, consisting of members of parliament who are elected, and the House of Lords, consisting of unelected peers. The Sovereign, at the moment Queen Elizabeth II, is the third part of the Parliament. The government is officially known as Her Majesty's Government."

Truth is stranger than fiction, huh?
Is it still funny that it is true?

OMG, it's NOT how they call their parties, it's how they call they cambers of parliament, it's similar to what you have in US: Congress and Senate

read it carefully again, maybe you'll understand it

just to repeat: the two parties in GB are called Labour party and Conservative party, their candidates are elected to be members of the House of Commons the membership in the House of Lords was heriditary, i'm not sure if it still is, but that's what monarchy is about, what do you want to do, elect the king or what?

The US has a very diverse party system. We have the president party, the vice president party, the cabinet party, the senate party, the house of representatives party, the supreme court party... and that's only touching on the national parties! Every branch of government is its own party! Now that sounds like a party!
