BIG GIANT GAME FLAW
I've been playing this game for, I dunno, couple months or so.
I finally get up enough money to build the higher goods, such as TV's and stuff only to find that you can't make any money on them.
Problem?
Main problem?
Production cost.
It really makes little sense,
If there is a lesson to be learned by Kapilands it is not to build finished goods and just invest in commodities.
Sure from what I hear you can lower your cost by moving to another region, but still, nowhere in the world today can you sell a TV for less money than the plastic that it took to make that TV, it's insane.
Players should be encouraged to advance to more complex items not discouraged by it.
current market prices
Here are a few examples.
Market price for plastic: 50
Market price for glass: 15
E-Components: 100
Power: 0.07
If I wanna make a monitor it only cost 264.00 for the material but 240 for the production cost at Q0 then I can only sell it for;
400+ market
593.22 store
granted that is not how much the material cost me since I make then myself but by the time I'm done, as I just now have, it cost 400.03.

lol, your opinions are so funny
what are the production costs for? if there were none, you could produce everything for free
power costs 0
water costs 0 + 0.1 power (which costed 0)
everything uses power and water (which cost 0) so everything costs 0
besides that, it's obvious that you don't produce anything for free, it's like real world, the factories cost some money to run and produce something
the other thing is (and it was discussed many times before) that you should build your electronics factory in green, the production costs would be only 72c
also you can make more money with higher quality products especially with the expensive ones
and the last thing is: if you can sell the materials on the market, it means that someone buys it and makes something of them and he wouldn't do it, if he was not making money with it

well there buildings are off from what i have seen in at lest one of mine i just went in to the Shoes and you cant sell a full shop at the Price that the area is at you could only sell like 1/4 in the shop i thot these shops are bases on full shops not 1/4 same thing with the Jeweler shop on selling Diamond rings but that is alot more far off then 1/4
Grocery and Furniture store ships looks like they are rright on tarket tho with selling a full shop but as those other 2 they are far from full shops
unless ya want to sell it all for 600h like who is going to wait that long

I want to support you here, you're doing some calculations for yourself and coming to some conclusions. I like that. However, on the bottom line I'm only about 20% with you.
Firstly, again you're using a plant in red that should have been built in green. The electronics factory has high production costs compared to inputs, as you noticed. That's a good reason to build in green. I know you've made this mistake before. Let me list ofr you where stuff is best built:
Green: Fruit plantation, cattle-breeding, plantation, power plant, electronics factory, TV station.
Yellow: Mine, Well
Red: Everything else.
Using a green electronic factory instead of a red one means production cost is 72 instead of 240. That's a whole bunch of profits back in your pocket.
That said, not every product is good. Some are downright awful. (Take a few minutes and consider Jeans.) But don't make your basis on the real world, it's a game and you shouldn't expect prices to match. The only question is what does it cost you to make, and what can you sell it for.

I make 4000 televisions per day, I buy EVERYTHING (power 0.07$, components 120$, plastic 58$ and glass 48$ on the market) I still make tons of profit...
I don't understand it, I'v read other topics from you with calculations on other products, wherever you had good outcomes according to your calculations I always had a bad one and vice versa, I'm starting to suspect you from attracting new players, who read these posts, to bad productions and keeping them away from the good ones lol

free market
hmm. i must admit i'm not really happy with the way market works. and i do believe something needs to be changed. is any1 here making coffee powder?
so, my ideea is like this.
1st decrease THe demand of goods in all regions. and than, if "The demand of X was covered in the last days to 0.00%" that product should sell no matter how high the price. when there is such a high demand, ppl should buy the product, no matter how high the price. but right now, the demand is too high and that can't be done unless the demand would be much much lowered. this way, everything would sell @ the right price. if something sells too well, more ppl would produce it, and in the end, the offer would equal the demand, and that product would sell for less. while other products that right now sell awfully, would sell better cus only a few people would still produce and sell those. this way the selling market would work like a free market. i didnt make the math, but i suspect the demand should be like 50 times lower than it actually is to make this work.

It's economics man, supply and demand can never be estimated as accurate as in reality, for you to find out what product is best to sell, if all products would be equally everybody would have same score...which sounds boring. If you think a product sells so badly then just produce something else instead of complaining about the product. In real life it's the same, people grow pigs and cows because they can make a living out of it. Nobody starts a penguin farm and you know why? Because penguins, although I guess it would be possible to grow them, people have no need for them, you can't eat it, it doesn't produce eggs that frequently and penguin jackets are also obsolete.

i disagree here, you can't compare penguins to coffee or cocoaorval wrote:It's economics man, supply and demand can never be estimated as accurate as in reality, for you to find out what product is best to sell, if all products would be equally everybody would have same score...which sounds boring. there are certainly some products that are so bad selling, that the only purpose for them in the game is to act like a dead end street, you make bread realise that it's not profitable and get on the wave with the others producing gas, steel and leather jackets
i think the solution could be to make the price more dependent on the supply/demand ratio so the players would be motivated to move into business that has bigger demand/supply ratio

do you find it natural that for every beer, the kapi customers are buying 4 000 ( four thousands) gallons of gas? or that for every pair of Jeans out customers are buying 160 Leather Jackets ?
and if you make the total of beer, kapi cola, orange juice and coffee powder sold, the total number of units sold for these 4 products (which i happen to think that they are really well sold in real live), the total number of these products that are sold is half the number of televisions. in the past 5 year, how many televisions did you buy ? in the past 5 weeks how many beers, cokes, orange juice, or coffee did you drink?
