Wrong price for a contract....

Post by Guest » 17.08.2009, 11:49

I wasn't paying attention, and somehow sent a contract for 25.000 oil but at 0c. This should have been 65c each, as me and my customer had previously agreed, and what he has been paying for at least 2 weeks. In total the amount should have been 1.625.000c. I sent my customer an IGM about it, and asked if it was ok if I sent him a contract for 1 oil at 1.500.000c. That way I would get some of my money, and he gets a 10% discount for his troubles/my stupidity. So far he has canceled the 1 oil contract, but hasn't responded in any other way. :(

What should/can I do about it?

If you did that and he had accepted you would only add one more offence against he rules, and you would both risk loosing your account even more.
What you should do is send a pm to GoldenEye and explain the situation. :D

yes but this is sth rather often.. the game developers should put an if and check if the price is 0 and not allow the transaction... i many times put the price in market place and the contract is send with 0 caps.... but my customers are good enough to cancel it... :D :D :D
something should be done to prevent this happen...

first you fill it in, then you have to execute the transaction in a second window.

that second window is there for a purpose, if everyone just blindly clicks execute, it's not the games fault :P
There's a clear window to double-check your price and amount, use it.

but i don't get a second window when i send my contracts :D

It opens at the same window and all i see is the price to execute.

he's 110% correct... if this was real life and we were all millionaires on some kind of business running site, mistakes like that would be double checked, why not for games?

that 'execute' window is the second window.
you need 2 clicks to send the whole contract, enough time to check whether it's correct.

and if you see 'the price to execute', you're also able to see if it says 0 caps, at which point you obviously shouldn't be pressing execute anymore.

Maybe because it is a game? And people make mistakes in the real world too, don't they? Anyway, all I asked of my customer was to pay me a previously agreed on, and completely legitimate, market price for the products I delivered to him. Only with a 10% discount for his troubles. And in my opinion that 150.000 is easy money for 2 mouse clicks extra.

Obviously he's just fine with it, given his lack of response. I fully understand my stupidiy, but given his seniority here, I would have thought he would show some decency and at least send me and IGM back.

I will just consider it an expensive lesson, but I really hope this kind of reaction is incidental, and is not a reflection of how all players treat each other around here. :?

You should still contact an admin about it, even if it's just to explain about the accidental free contract.
As sending items for free/cheap is against the rules, and could get you in trouble.

I did just that, and the admin in question quite simply told me to ask the 25.000 oil back, and also pay 0c for it. That way everything is even, and nobody benefits. Now let's just hope my customer responds.. :?
