Paying in Payments
We should be able to pay in payments, for example if you want to buy a building that a manager is selling for 7,000,000 you could work out an agreement so you pay 200,000 a day or something like that, but if you do that then you pay a little bit more so instead of paying 7 mil all at once, you might pay like 7,300,000 in payments
It could be held in an escrow account, held by the system. Both the seller and the buyer would create an agreement, and the building would be held by the system. As the buyer made payments, those would be held by the system, and once the agreed upon amount was posted, the building would be released to the buyer, and cash to the seller.
During set-up of the agreement, a time period would be defined, so that the seller gets back their building if the buyer fails to complete the purchase in the agreed upon time. Maybe a reasonable % of the paid funds (say 10%) goes to the seller for their loss of being able to use the building for a few days.
This would be pretty difficult to cheat on, since the system is holding everything until the agreement is fulfilled. The main risk is to the seller, by having their building sit unusable during that time period. But, the seller should be doing their research and only entering into agreements like this with reliable buyers.
I really like this idea. I personally have a hard time saving up for a big purchase, I keep seeing other things that will only take 50,000c here, or 100,000 there....which delays the cash to purchase that 5,000,000 building from another player.

I think that this is too much effort to be implemented here.. maybe it is an idea for further versions... but I don*t think that they will do it here:
if you do that you will have to keep too much things in mind: what if the buyer paid his rates, but in the meantime does not have the respective slot for the building?
And another thing is: according to your proposal, the building would have to be kept in the system, while the rates are being paid (as otherwise the seller cannot dispose of the free slot). That could be a way for people to move buildings around... just cancel this agreement later on...
this leads to much more problems, in my mind...: do the rates leave your account automatically? then you cannot make a break during the game... as you could go bankrupt
Does the money leave your account just if you want to? I am quite convinced that there will be loads of sellers complaining about people not to stick to their obligations...
It is no problem, just to save money until you can afford a building and then to buy it... Actually it is nearly the same, as you cannot implement your proposal and the building moves to the buyer as soon as this agreement is made, but as soon as the whole amount was paid...

racingtigger:
your suggestion doesn't solve anything, why should I as a seller have my building blocked for some time until you as a buyer send the money to the system? you can save the money on your account and then buy the building and i can still use my building until then
i think the solution would be, that you paid me 50% of the building price and you get the building then you will send me the rest of the money in payments (but there is a big problem, that i can only believe that you will pay, i can't think of any way how to force you to pay)

1. Make it automatic. It's a loan. Someone doing this should know what he is getting into.Tycoon wrote:I think that this is too much effort to be implemented here.. maybe it is an idea for further versions... but I don*t think that they will do it here:

2. Make the building held in "escrow" usable, or make the buildings held here use a slot. Therefore, one couldn't just hold buildings and change them around.
