It is ALL supply and demand with artifical caps (NPC's selling at fixed rates) in place to keep the game from experiencing extreme inflation.

This is just the case of a maturing economy. In the begining everyone was small, and the overall demand for power was low and the amount of money people were willing to spend on it was low. Now that the market has matured and there a lot of billionaires out there needing tons of power the price is driving upwards. As the price goes up people will have incentive to also start selling power. As this happens the supply will increase and the price will start to come down. When the price starts to get too low then people will start to get out of the power business because it isn't as profitable and the price will again start to rise.

Overall this should stabalize and the price should settle.

this would work if there were enough little companies to produce power, which is highly unprofitable at higher lvls due to the fact it cant be researched

I would like to see the numbers on the other industries in regards to profitablility.

At this moment you can produce power for .03 and sell it for .25. That is a huge markup.

How do the other industries fair?

It is a huge mark up (833.33%), but with 100 maxed out power plants at Tycoon you would only make 3 898 185 736 power daily. That is only aprox 857 mio at that price. You would also have 19 mio FA. That is not a good profit.

Less well than power producers!!! some businesses are horrible but power if you have enough patience you can make lots every day.

so it takes awhile to build up a power business(like im doing on realm 2) but after the first few weeks its like woohoo money money money :P lol

my gas cost me 20 caps odd to make and i can sell it in my stores for 55-60 so thats around 3 times as much in profit but 0.03(max) for 0.25 is 8.5 times as much in profit(roughly)

But, you can make a lot more money off of gas then you can with power.

pfff nearly 4bil power a day? yeah thsats not much sure its only 1bil a day but on a smaller scale my 11mil FA Relam 2 company can make about 25mil power a day... if that was on realm 1 that would be 6,250,000 a day adn thats ove rhalf my FA!!!

What I should say is that make power then switch to a store business, which become more profitable at higher levels when the production rate dip a lot.

You are just considering the ratio of profit to cost, but you failed to justify power earns more

Consider this:

20m2 Green joinery against 20m2 Green Power Plant

Joinery:
Daily output 126 pieces
Sell price 2000
Cost of Material 1500c
daily Earning 63000c

Power plant:
Daily output 183309
Sell price 0.25
Cost of Material 0.03
daily Earning 40328c

Needless to mention wardrobe price goes up with quality, power price cap is 0.27 but wardrobes can even go to about 2.7k (realistic)

Yes. That is the number I was wanting to see. Caps per square meter per day. C/M/D

Why would you have a green joinery?
Also my Q17 wardrobes are selling in my shop for 3800! A little more than you calculated there!!
