Real World Question about applying for a patent

Anyone here with real business experience, in the United States, no exactly what a guy needs to do, to prepare to enter a patent attorney's office to apply for a patent? The websites I have read so far, seem to generalized.

I guess you've never saddled up on a horse. It quite literally means to put a saddle on a horse and ride it. Some people call motorbikes, Iron Horses here. That's about it and please keep the thread in context, thank you.
