Does anybody speak German?

Post by Guest » 13.02.2010, 11:15

I need translation from German to English of a text related to kapilands gfx. I tried to translate it by Google but it became a nonsense. Here is the text:

Hinweis fьr Firefox
1. In die URL-Leiste gibst du about:config ein => enter drьcken
2. es wird eine verdammt lange Liste angezeigt
3. du scrollst die Liste runter bis zum Eintrag security.checkloaduri
4. Rechtsklick auf diese Zeile, es цffnet sich ein kleines Auswahlmenь, in dem du umschalten auswдhlst
5. in der Spalte ganz rechts steht jetzt false (vorher true)
6. dann den Pfad im Spielprofil einstellen
7. evtl. Browser einmal komplett schlieЯen und neu starten

You want us to translate your German translation into English,
and then back into German???

Why not give the English original to work with?

Nine is the German word for no. It is from a really bad joke. Though I cant help as most of the German words I know are swear words.

Yes, that must be a REALLY bad joke.

Cause "no" in german is NEIN, not nine.

Text from an English learning book used in a German school class:

"...our foods are good for the slim figures..."

They sound the same. Nine and Nein same prounciation. So what if the joke is from a really bad joke that doesnt tell you how to spell iy.

Sorry for hijacking this thread but if you are having trouble use Babel fish and move the words around till it makes sense.

Ok, here is my guess, using Babelfish. I put my own guesses on what the words might mean, with a question mark). I don't live in Germany, don't sell any products to Germans, so I don't speak German. :)

Reference for Firefox

1. To the URL border you give about: config => more enter drьcken (dragging? As in drag over?)

2. one condemned long list is indicated

3. you scrollst the list down up to the entry security.checkloaduri

4. Right-click on this line, it цffnet (offset?) itself a small Auswahlmenь (switch out?) , in which you switch auswдhlst (out users?)

5. in the column completely right is located now false (before true)

6. then the path in the play profile adjust

7. browsers once completely schlieЯen (shut down?) and start again

That's a guess indeed, here's some fixes from my limites knowledge of the German language.
I only translated the remaining german words that I knew.
The whole thing in general doesn't make much sense to me, but it might make more sense if I actually saw the program as well. :P
