Fax bug

Post by Guest » 19.10.2011, 15:46

When posting a fax (all realms, .com/.nl), you get a pre post screen where you can see how the fax will look like. However only half of the times that screen seems to be accurate. The actual screen "in the office" seems to be one or more caracters longer or shorter.

This means you can miss a important aspect in your lay-out.

e.a. When you want on line 1 your Sell and on line 2 your Buy items, the Buy is sometimes moved up to line1, people not fully focust look over the buy and think your selling goods that you actually want to buy.

I have this with IE as with Firefox. It seems to be variable on how much caracters the preview is off.

This may or may not be directly related to this report..

But note that the ' symbol does not work in-game,
it actually uses up 2 characters when you use that symbol, which is one of the causes for a fax missing a letter at the end of it when you've used the full limit.

A good replacement for it is this symbol: `
That one does work the way it's supposed to. ;)

I've noticed this with preview in the past, you think you have it just perfect and it turns out slightly different when finally sent, preview is definately a couple of characters different on the top row from the end result.

Hello,

The problem that the preview and the final fax differ lies in the programming, the same goes for the apostrophe (or inverted comma). I'm not quite sure that there is a solution for that problem, but I'll definitely keep it in the back of my head.

I'm sure the great programmer that you are, will be able to do that in no time when you put your head on it.
