Those warehouse listings are just guidelines, or reminders about what you've bought. Please don't do anything silly like selling to yourself to try to change that number. It just wastes time and money and doesn't get you anything.

Now as to why it's not what was expected, it may be calculating funny. Whenever production is stopped early the game has to do some math to figure out where the cutoff was. All it knows is how much you spent and what it put in the warehouse. And there may be some other calculation bug afoot, I've heard enough things. I haven't personally seen it but others have reported that too.

But that's just a note glitch, it doesn't affect how much money you have to play with. Now when you start a production, it says:
XXXXXX is/are now being produced.
Ready in HH h. MM min. SS sec. Production costs YYYYY.
Right? That is what matters. If that YYYY number is ever off, then there's a real problem. But so far as I can tell that's working ok.

One of the problems, why you should not take the figures in the warehouse as "serious" figures is, that if you cancel a production, all raw material you did not use go back into the warehouse as q0 AND with an average price of 0 (if you cancel the production, the system does not "know" which kind of e.g. glass you took, was it q0, q1, q2 etc, so it also does not know which average price to take as a basis... and that makes it turning the average price into 0).
